Being Freelance Community Rules/Guidelines

These are more ‘guidelines’ than ‘rules’.
That said: in order to keep our community a nice, positive place to hang out, breach of these rules could result in your membership of the community being cancelled.

1. Be positive

Reign in the temptation to leave a defeatist, negative comment. They drain the spirit.
That doesn't mean we can't be realistic. But positivity wins the day.

2. Don't be a dick

Jonathan Da Costa and Jordan Green both gave that advice in their episodes. We're all in this together.
Let's treat everyone with respect and courtesy. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

3. Be bold

Photographer Jon Enoch used that phrase in his episode of the podcast.
Be bold, don't hide in the online shadows. Join in.

4.Don't over promote or spam
Give more to this group than you take.
Promoting yourself is a key part of being a freelancer. But OTT self-promotion, spam, and irrelevant links are dull.

5. Do not abuse DMs
It’s great that we can DM, but be considerate. They are not for unsolicited sales messages.
If someone bothers you in DMs in whatever way, please let Steve (Folland) know.
The ability to DM can be revoked by admins.

6. Respect everyone's privacy
Being part of this group requires mutual trust. What's shared in the group should stay in the group.

7.Respect everyone's choice of biscuits

Bourbons, ginger nuts, chocolate covered Hob Nobs. Whatever.
Don't judge another by their biscuit tin. Some people like fig rolls.
